Name: Hikari ‘Kari’ Kamiya
Age: Between 11 and 12…so 11 1/2
Physical Description of Character: Kari has grown from her eight year old self. She has grown and now stands at a height of four feet and six inches. She is a healthier now than when she was as a child allowing her to play more out doors and add more color to her once slightly pale peach completion. Her hair has grown from the short bob it once was. It now one length and reaches her chin. To keep her bangs out of her brown eyes she has one or two clips to the side of her face.

Her outfit now is way different from what she used to wear. For starters she replaced the yellow scarf around her neck with a camera on a silver necklace. Her shirt is still sleeveless except now the collar covers her neck and is split in half with in terms of color. From the bust up (which hasn’t developed yet) is pink and bust down is white. Covering most of her arms are fingerless gloves that are the same color pink as her shirt. Instead of peddle-pushers she wears light yellow pants with white socks and pink and grey zipped up shoes.

Point in Cannon: Post series but before the 20 year later epilogue.
Personality: Kari by nature is a kind and caring person. She’s always looking for the best in people and tries to avoid fighting if at all possible. When she was a kid she was capable of being serious especially in drastic situations, like when the Numemon were enslaved by WaruMonzemon. She released them from their chains and cared for them until they died at Machinedramon’s claws. Aside from those things she’s a good listener and like any other child likes to play with others. Now that she’s older that maturity she had then has grown making her the one of the mature Digidestines of the group.

She really loves her brother, Tai very much. She will always do her best to cheer him on or support him in anyway she can even if it means putting her own health at risk. She also has some special relationships with two other people. She has a great friendship with Daisuke and knows he has a crush on her which she sometimes teases him about. Then there’s T.K. who saved her when she was transported to the Dark Ocean. Since he was one of the original Digidestined children she has known him since she was eight. She cares for him deeply and knows she can relay on him no matter what.

Aside from that she would do anything for her friends. They are precious to her considering all of their accomplishments were done as a team. Another interesting quirk of hers is the fact she is something of a tom boy. While she does wear the color pink a lot she doesn’t really like wearing dresses or anything too ‘girly’. She prefers to play soccer with her friends and brother. She also has an interest in photography and has a camera around her neck to take pictures.
History of the Character: When Kari and Tai were younger they used to live in an apartment building named the Highton View Terrace. One night Kari heard something coming from the living room it turned out the television was on. While Tai was on his midnight trip to the bathroom she called out his name watching as an egg appeared out from the television set. The rest of the night was a blur to the girl, but she awoke the next morning with the DigiEgg right next to her. When Tai woke up he wanted to get rid of it, but a series of whistle blows told him no. Soon enough the digital egg hatched into a Botamon. The poor thing was scared and ran off to hide in the corner of their room. Tai was freaked out, but Kari managed to crawl over to the Digimon and whistle out a tune to calm it down. Form the Botamon turned into a Koromon (who loved to hug Tai’s face to death).

It turned out Koromon’s Digiegg wasn’t the only thing that came from the digital world. Sure enough there was another that turned out to be Parotmon. To protect Tai and Kari the Koromon digvolved into a huge Greymon and battled the Parotmon. The two were sweapt back into the digital world and to explain away what happened Japan dubbed the attack as a terrorist one forcing Tai and Kari’s parents to move them out of Highton view Terrance.

About a few years after that (presumably when she was five) Kari was struck with a bad case of pneumonia that kept her from attending pre-school for the day. One day she appeared to be feeling better and when Tai got home from school she told him she was fine enough to play. When he brought her out to the park she began to feel woozy, but did her best to hide it. She soon passed out from a high fever after she failed to kick the ball straight. When she came from the hospital she told Tai she was sorry for not being able to kick the ball straight and understood if he didn’t want to play with her anymore.

Skip a few more years and the eight year old was supposed to go with her brother to summer camp, but came down with the flu. Kari was forced to stay home, but got an unexpected surprise…Tai was home early! And he had a Koromon with him—it surprised her brother that she knew what a Digimon was. Tai had to go back to the digital world, but came back with his friends only to have the world put in danger thanks to Myotismon. Kari had no idea she was the eighth child everyone was looking for when she unknowingly stumbled upon her Digimon partner, Gatomon. She befriended her and Wizardmon. It broke her heart to see Wizardmon be killed because of Myotismon, but with her crest of light and Digivice in hand she was able to help Gatomon transform into Angewoman.

After destroying Myotismon for a second time she had to head back to the digital world to help save both worlds along with the rest of the Digidestined. The world they went back to turned out to be ruled by the Dark Master, slowly but surely they defeated each and every one of them. About a year later Kari returned to the Digital World with the others only to give up her crest power to free to Sovereigns…

Another year and a half later she returns to the Digital World to help save it from the Dark Emperor who turned out to be another Digidestined named Ken Ichijoui. However, with this new enemy came new friends in the form of other Digidestined children named Yolei, Daisuke, Cody along with T.K. Like always they triumphed over evil except this time around they had a new Digivolution, Armor Digivolving. This allowed Gatomon (due to the control spires and with Kari giving up her crest power) to Digivolve into Nephirtimon. Moving along, between fighting the Digimon Emperor Kari was drawn into another world of sorts called the dark Ocean. She was completely terrifed of the place because of the darkness oozing out from it and of course there was the fact the ‘King’ of the Dark Ocean wanted her and her power. Thankfully T.K. saved her from that but after Ken was brought into the team. They managed to wind up there again only this time Ken was affected too. However all wasn’t lost! Gatomon and Aquilamon were able to DNA Digivolve into Silyphmon and tada! The day was saved!

Then during Christmas she was sent to Hong Kong with Izzy to help the Asian Digidestined in rounding up the Digimon that made it into the real world. From there a new enemy emerged in the form of Yukio Oikawa…who turned out was being controlled by Myotismon’s spirit. Again they had to kick the vampire Digimon’s butt before he finally learned his lesson. After that the Digital World and Real World lived in peace. Sure there were other threats like Wendigomon and Diaboromon (another Digimon that loved to come back to haunt them) sprung up but they were always defeated!


Magical Powers/Skills: ‘Feel’ darkness and produce light—which is rather draining and used rarely, and take pictures!

Weapons: Her camera, she’ll blind you with the flash…or beat you with it if all else fails.
